Matureaccountants.com was set up by Martin Lloyd-Penny in 2005. Martin is a 56 year old FCA with many years of business experience both as a Partner with a Top 6 firm and a number of positions in industry at FD and MD level.

During a period of recent inactivity Martin witnessed at first hand the problems of getting the attention of both agencies and employers when you are over 50.

He decided to take positive action - the result is matureaccountants.com.

Regional Directors:

Matureaccountants.com has now appointed a number of Regional Directors who will deal directly with Employers and Candidates in their areas. This will enable a more personal and tailored service to be delivered to our clients.

Interested in becoming a Regional Director?

The Regional Director works as a commission-only Agent and we supply a set of mature recruitment business cards to get you started – cost £40 plus VAT. How does it work? All you have to do is sign our standard agency agreement, introduce an opportunity and we will do the rest and hopefully place a candidate in the role. We handle the entire process and once we have been paid by the client you will receive an agreed % of our commission.

EU maternity law 'must not result in new costs for UK businesses'
The British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) has warned of the potential cost impact of possible EU changes to maternity benefits. Following the amendment of the Pregnant Workers Directive in the European Parliament, Dr Adam Marshall, Director of Policy at the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC), said: "The Pregnant Workers Directive should be about setting minimum EU standards for the health and safety of pregnant workers - not adding new payroll costs for overburdened companies and national social security systems. "This vote introduces complexity and uncertainty, which are totally unnecessary, as the UK and other EU countries already have well-developed national maternity pay systems. "Companies need to be given the space to deliver growth and jobs - without being hamstrung by new and costly maternity rules. "As the Directive moves forward, we urge the European Parliament as a whole and the Council to overturn these costly amendments."
